Welcome

‘Wee Gallery ' is a small gallery in the far north of Scotland .It is situated in Balnakeil Craft Village in Durness.

Balnakeil Craft Village was set up in the 1960's in abandoned MOD buildings. These were built in the 1950's as part of an early warning station during the cold war.It is now a thriving tourist destination with restaurants, artists and crafts people open for business from around Easter until October.

'Wee Gallery' is owned and run by professional artist Nicola Poole . It shows oils, acrylics, mixed media and prints. I am inspired by the stunning local landscape and enjoy painting the changing moody weather and the dramatic light that typifies this far north-west corner of Scotland. The gallery also features woodturning by Ludo van Muysen, who enjoys turning large sculptural bowls, often leaving some bark in tact.

The Gallery is open to the public from around Easter to October. Opening hours are 10 am to 5pm daily. On rare occasions we may be closed for the odd day or half a day, please contact me to make sure. The website is open for business all year.
