Welcome

'Nicola Poole's Wee Gallery ' is a small gallery in the far north of Scotland. It is situated in Balnakeil Craft Village in Durness. It was featured on 'Midsummer Live' BBC2 Scotland last year, showing Nicola and her paintings.

Balnakeil Craft Village was set up in the 1960's in abandoned MOD buildings. These were built in the 1950's as part of an early warning station during the cold war.It is now a thriving tourist destination with restaurants, artists and crafts people open for business from the spring until the beginning of winter.

'Nicola Poole's Wee Gallery' is owned and run by professional artist Nicola Poole . It shows oils, acrylics and mixed media work by Nicola . She is inspired by the stunning local landscape and enjoys painting the changing moody weather and the dramatic light that typifies this far north-west corner of Scotland. The gallery also features woodturning by Ludo van Muysen, who enjoys turning large sculptural bowls, often leaving some bark in tact.

The Gallery is open to the public from April to October. Opening hours are 10 am to 6 pm daily. On rare occasions we may be closed for the odd day or half a day, please contact me to make sure. The website is open for business all year. If you would like to contact me go to 'contact me' or email me at
